How to post a Workout of the Day (WOD) to a group

The "Workout of the Day" (WOD) allows you to create a workout as a “one-off”. Similar to the freestyle one, the WOD helps you diversify your clients' workouts with special one-offs.

In this article, you will learn how to post any type of workout as WOD to a group and how your clients can complete them. Please keep in mind that the WOD is not limited to one day only, it will stay in the group feed (unless a trainer deletes it) and clients can complete in any given day.

How to post any type of workout as WOD to a group

On web app:

You can add it to a group by clicking on "WOD" icon and selecting the workout you want to post.

  • You can post the WOD to a group and allow your clients to only do that workout once.
  • It can be any type of workout: video, interval, circuit or regular.
  • It cannot be shared in a private message; only in groups.
  • If client starts the WOD and does not finish it, but cancel it, the instance of that WOD will be created on client's calendar. Client then, can now start the same WOD from group thread or from their calendar.

Since the WOD is for more than one client, you will only see the “View” option on group WODs (regardless of workout type) that will allow you to preview the workout of the day. This is especially beneficial to protect your streaming credits for the video workout types of WOD.

On mobile app:

Same as on the web, you can add it to a group by tapping on "WOD" icon and selecting the workout you want to post.

How clients can complete WODs in the group

On web app:

  • Clients will see "View" on WODs they have not completed.
  • Once clicked on "View" or WODs title, they will open up the "Preview" state of the WOD.
  • From the "Preview" state, clients will be able to "Enter Stats" or "Play Video" by clicking on the video thumbnail play icon (for video workouts).
  • Clients can also click on the title of the WOD, and by clicking on it, it will open the "Preview" state, as well.
  • When done, the workout will show up as "Completed".

On mobile app:

  • Clients will see "Start Now" on WODs they have not completed.
  • When tapping on "Start Now" it will start the WOD right away (it will open the "Tracking" state for the regular, interval or circuit workout types and "Play" state for the video workouts)
  • Client can also tap on the title of the WOD, and, by tapping on it, it will open the workout in "Preview" state, from where clients will also be able to "Start Now".
