The Master Workout library is your go-to for creating and storing your workouts all in one place, with the ability to tag workouts and organize them by folder. Check out our About Master Workouts article for more information on utilizing Master Workouts tags and folders.
From the Master Workout library, you can copy workouts to other programs or clients as needed, providing flexibility and ease in managing your workout routines.
To help you get started, here’s a step-by-step video guide on creating a workout in the Master Workouts Library. This visual guide will walk you through each step covered in this article.
1. First, navigate to the Master Libraries > Workouts tab from the left menu on your ABC Trainerize web account.
2. Select the blue New button to begin.
- You can also browse the Trainerize workout library by clicking on the link above the New button. For more information on our pre-built workouts, visit: How to Access Pre-built Workouts and Programs in the Trainerize Content Libraries.
3. Enter a name for the workout and select the appropriate workout type. Click Start Building.
- There are 4 workout types available to create: Regular, Circuit, Interval, and Video. Learn more about the different workout types here.
4. The next screen will bring you to the Workout Builder. Here, you can drag and drop exercises from the right panel into the workout list on the left.
- Don't worry if you accidentally add the wrong exercise, simply select the exercise and click Delete to remove it.
- You can also rearrange the order of exercises by dragging them into the desired position.
Adding Targets to Exercises:
Once an exercise is added, you can assign a target to it (either time or text- depending on the exercise type).
Text Target: In the screenshot below, the first exercise has a text target of "12 reps/15 lbs, 1/2/4 tempo." This information will be visible to the client as they complete the exercise.
Time Target: In the screenshot below, the second exercise has a time target of "45 seconds". The client will see a timer and have 45 seconds to complete the exercise. With time targets, you can also include text notes, such as "As many reps as possible" or "6 reps each leg, pace yourself". This is a great way to provide guidance, just as you would in the gym!
Superset Exercises:
To create a superset, select the exercises you want to combine then click the Superset box within the exercise menu. You will be able to adjust the number of sets and rest periods, either after the set or between exercises.
In the example below, the two exercises have been added to a superset of 4 sets, with a 90-second rest period at the end. Notice that the rest period after the first exercise has been set to "None", indicating no rest is required between exercises one and two.
4. Once your workout is complete, click Save.
Using Master Workouts to Build Master Programs
Once your workout is created and saved in the Master Workout library, you can use those workouts to build Master Programs or Client Programs:
1. Create a Master Program:
- Master Programs allow you to group multiple workouts into a comprehensive training plan for clients. You can easily import the Master Workouts you just created into a Master Program, and even schedule those workouts on the program calendar to streamline the training experience for your clients.
2. Create a Client Program:
- If you'd like to schedule workouts for a specific client, you can import or copy it from the Master Workout library into a Client's Program. This allows you to tailor workouts to your client's individual needs while encouraging consistency in their training.
