Making quick, seamless workout adjustments is key to keeping training sessions running smoothly and keeping progress on track! With exercise substitutions, both coaches and clients can easily swap movements when needed– whether it’s due to equipment availability, comfort, or training goals.
Substitute an Exercise During a Workout
Next to each exercise, there is a button that allows you to Substitute the exercise, tapping the Substitute button opens the exercise substitution list for that specific exercise.
Note: If you are logged in as a Trainer, and substituting an exercise in a workout that’s part of a training plan: you can choose to apply the substitution to this workout only or to the rest of the training phase.
To search for a specific exercise you can:
- Use the quick filter options (Same muscle group, Same Equipment, Same movement).
- Search the exercise substitution list via the search bar.
- Apply filters to the list (Main Muscle Worked, Equipment, Movement, Mechanics, Level).
If you have previously substituted an exercise in your workout– your most recent substitution will be visible at the top of the list for quick selection.
Once you have found your desired exercise substitution, select the exercise and hit Done to swap the exercise.
