ABC Trainerize offers Master Workouts and Master Programs as libraries of reusable training templates for your clients. You can subscribe a client to a Master Program and get them ready to train quickly, or for those requiring a more personalized plan, you can create Custom Programs tailored to individual clients.
When To Use a Master Program to Deliver Training?
Master Programs are perfect for creating programs that will be used with multiple clients. They allow you to efficiently deliver training without having to build a new program from scratch for each client.
For example, if you have created a "30-Day Bootcamp" program, you can easily subscribe multiple clients to the program at once. Master Programs also serve as a solid foundation if you want to start with a general templated program and further customize it for specific clients by copying the program to a client's profile.
When To Use a Client's Personal Program?
Each client has a personalized program available to be customized in their Training Program section. This program can be built directly into the client's accounts. This option is ideal for clients who may need tailored workouts and training not already available in your Master Program templates.
Creating a program in a client's profile also helps keep your Master Program Library organized, preventing clutter from single-use or highly specialized programs. If you would like to use the client's program in the future for other clients, you can easily import it into your Shared or Personal Master Program folders for future use.
Alternatively, if you have a Master Program template that you would like to customize for an individual client, you can copy a Master Program from your library to the client's account and then make individual changes directly on their profile.
What's The Best Approach?
Choosing between a Master Program and Client's Program depends on your training style and client needs:
- Use a Master Program when you want to deliver training to multiple clients with minimal adjustments. Master Programs are great for standardized offerings like challenges, boot camps, or recurring fitness plans that can easily be reused.
- Create a custom Client Program when a client needs a unique or personalized plan. This option gives you full control over the program. You can always import the program to your Master Program library later if you see a need for future use.
The options are all there, but where you choose to take advantage of them is up to you!
Reusing a Client's Program
If you need to use a client's custom Program for other clients or you think that it could be tweaked and used as a template in your Master Programs section, you can import the entire Program over by following these steps:
- Click on the Master Programs section
- Click the blue + New drop-down menu
- Select Import Client's Program As and choose from Shared or Personal
- This will open a dialogue menu that will ask for the client's name from which you would like to import the Program.
- Clicking Import will save that Program in your Shared or Personal folder as the client's name. For example, if the client's name is Sally Thiel, the imported Program will be named Sally Thiel.

Managing Multiple Programs with Add-ons
Trainers have the ability to create multiple stacking programs with Add-on Programs. Alongside a client's Main Program and Custom Program, a client can have 100 Add-on Programs. These programs can consist of both phased and on-demand program types. While the client is training, the trainer can switch an Add-on Program to the client's Main Program as needed.
- The Main Program is always labeled "Main" and is the default program shown at the top of the client's training program. A client's custom program can also be a main program and is set by default.
- Add-on Programs allow clients to access additional workouts without interrupting their Main Program.
