At times, ABC Trainerize users may encounter situations where trainers (or clients) notice multiple, duplicated, or unexpected calendar items that they did not schedule. This issue can be perplexing, but understanding its potential causes and implementing appropriate solutions can help ensure a smooth training experience for both trainers and clients.
In this article, we will explore common reasons behind this occurrence and provide some potential ways to avoid this in the future.
Possible Causes:
-
The program/phase was copied or imported from another client, copied or imported from a master program, or duplicated from within the client's training plan:
- When any kind of "copy" action is processed, it will transfer all of the saved information from the source's calendar including workouts, cardio events, auto-messages, and body stats.
-
Client Activity in the App:
- Clients might unintentionally create multiple events or workouts in the app by moving events from one to another.
- To limit a client's ability to reschedule and move events, please take a look at your Client Permission Settings.

-
Wearables may sync multiple cardio/workout events from third-party syncing apps:
- In particular, technical issues have been raised where wearables such as Fitbit, Healthkit, Garmin, etc might sync over multiple cardio events if they are connected to a third-party health syncing app.
- Please ensure the client experiencing the issue has not connected any third party apps to the wearable integration connected to their ABC Trainerize Account.
Resolving the Issue:
-
Bulk Deleting Events:
- You can 'bulk' delete items from the client calendar by selecting the 'Trash can' icon in the top right of the client calendar > pick the date range > under 'Which Calendar Item Status do you wish to clear?' choose 'Scheduled/Missed Items' > under 'Which Calendar Items?' select which items you would like to clear (Workouts, Cardio, etc) > hit Clear.
- Please note: This will delete all of the incomplete/missed workouts for the selected program and cannot be undone.
- If you would like to learn more about what you can do with the Mass Delete function, please read more about it on our Help Article here.

-
Troubleshoot Browser:
- Clear the browser cache to reset your browser. Some browser cache/history can cause issues with web page functions.
- Next, you can check and review your browser extensions, there may be an extension that is impacting the web page, try toggling them on or off to see if they are part of the issue.
Preventive Measures:
-
Client Education:
- Educate clients on how to use the Trainerize app effectively.
- Provide guidelines on syncing third-party apps to avoid potential conflicts.
-
Regular Calendar Check:
- Encourage clients and trainers to regularly review their calendars within Trainerize to catch and address any discrepancies before copying/importing any information.
-
Copy/Import Workouts Rather Than the Phase:
- If you wish to reuse the same workouts for your clients' next phase, instead of duplicating, what you can do instead is build a new blank phase > import workout from clients program > previous phase > make any needed changes to the workouts as needed and proceed to schedule the workouts.
Understanding the reasons behind unwanted calendar items in ABC Trainerize and implementing the suggested solutions and preventative measures can significantly enhance the training experience for both trainers and clients. By staying proactive and addressing issues promptly, you can create a seamless and efficient training environment within the ABC Trainerize platform.
