When delivering training to your clients, you have several options for structuring their training phases. The best approach depends on how much guidance and flexibility you offer. Below are three methods to manage client training phases:
Option 1: Deliver a Training Phase and Schedule Workouts for Clients
If you prefer a structured approach and want to ensure clients follow a set schedule, you can create a Phased Program with scheduled workouts on specific days.
- Scheduled workouts will appear in the clients calendar tab on the mobile app as well as their 'Things To Do Today' section on their dashboard.
- Clients simply tap on the schedule workout to start tracking them.
- Trainers can monitor compliance and receive notice when clients miss a scheduled workout.
With this approach, you may want to also determine how far in advance clients can view scheduled workouts and calendar items: Managing Client Calendar Visibility (Individual and Company-Wide).
Option 2: Deliver a Training Phase and Let Clients Schedule Their Own Workouts
For clients who prefer a little more flexibility, you can deliver workouts via a Phased Program but leave the scheduling up to the client.
- Simply subscribe clients to the program with training phases, but do not schedule them on specific days.
- Clients can still choose their workout days and manually add workouts to their calendar if desired.
- Provide guidance in the training phase summary or use workout instructions to specify any recommendations or rest days.
With this approach, you can even order the days on which you would like clients to perform a certain workout by renaming the workout with the corresponding day. Below is an example:
- Day 1 - Chest Workout
- Day 2 - Legs Workout
- Day 3 - Total body
- Rest for 1 day in between workouts.

Option 3: Provide an On-Demand Workout Library
For clients who want maximum flexibility and access to content, you can offer an on-demand workout library. Instead of subscribing a client to a structured phased program, you can provide clients with a library of workouts they can choose from at any time.
