When you add workouts to a Master Program, they are automatically sorted in alphabetical order within each training phase. There is currently no option to manually change the order of workouts in the Master Programs tab.
However, the way workouts appear in a Master Program is different from how they appear on a client’s calendar. You can influence workout order by scheduling workouts in the preferred sequence, using a consistent naming system, or understanding how different workout styles are prioritized on the calendar.
Understanding How Workouts are Ordered in a Master Program
The alphabetical sorting of workouts within a Master Program training phase only affects how workouts appear in the client’s Training Program tab on the mobile app.
This means the order shown in the client’s Training Program section does not necessarily indicate the order in which the client must complete the workouts.
For example, if your workouts are named:
- Cardio
- Strength
- Warm-Up
They may appear alphabetically in the Training Program tab, even if you intend the client to complete the warm-up first.
Renaming Workouts to Control Ordering in Training Phase
To control how workouts are ordered in a client's training program tab itself, you can rename the workouts to sort them in the order you would prefer. This is especially useful if you do not schedule workouts on the calendar for clients.
- Use a Numbering System: Rename your workouts with numbers so they appear in the correct order. For example: "01- Upper Body", "02- Lower Body". "03- Cardio".
- Ensure Consistent Numbering: To maintain the proper order, ensure all numbers have the same number of digits. For example: "01", "02", "03" or "Day 1", "Day 2", Day 3", etc.
Understanding How Workouts are Ordered on the Client Calendar
When workouts are scheduled on a client’s calendar, they appear based on both the workout style and the order in which they were added.
Workouts are arranged on the calendar in this order:
- Regular style workouts appear first, in the order they were added to the calendar.
- Circuit style workouts appear second, in the order they were added to the calendar.
- Interval style workouts appear last, in the order they were added to the calendar.
For example, if you add three Regular style workouts to the same day, they will appear in the order you scheduled them. However, if you add three different workout styles to the same day, they will appear by workout style first:
- Regular Style workout
- Circuit Style workout
- Interval Style workout
This means that even if an Interval Style workout is scheduled before a Regular Style workout, the Regular Style workout will still appear first on the client’s calendar.
Scheduling Workouts to Control Calendar Order
If you want workouts to appear in a specific order on the client’s calendar, schedule workouts of the same style in the order you want them to appear.
For example, if you want a warm-up workout to appear before a strength workout, both workouts should be the same workout style and the warm-up should be added to the calendar first.
If the workouts use different styles, the calendar will prioritize the style order first: Regular, then Circuit, then Interval.
