There’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all workout. Each clients come with unique goals, fitness levels, and preferences. That's why subscribing clients to the right workout plan can feel like a balancing act. You want to find the sweet spot between it being challenging enough to drive results, but not too intimidating or over-exerting.
One of the most effective tools for finding that balance and progressing clients over time is RPE, or Rating of Perceived Exertion.
What is RPE?
RPE is a measure of how hard clients are working during a workout. It’s a way to get real-time insight into perceived effort, allowing you to adjust progression for intensity, recovery, and pacing.
How to Collect RPE from Clients
Collecting RPE for a workout is easy in ABC Trainerize! Each time a client completes a workout, they are automatically prompted to log their RPE. This rating instantly shows up in your timeline and is added as a workout comment.
1. Client Enters Their RPE
After a workout, clients are prompted to rate their effort on a scale from 1(Effortless) to 10 (Beyond Hard). Below the scale, there is also a text field where clients can leave additional comments.
2. Trainer Receives the Feedback
Once a client has completed and rated their workout, the assigned trainer will be notified on both the mobile and web applications.
Where to View RPE Ratings
On the ABC Trainerize Web Account:
- On the right side of the Overview page, the Recent Activities Feed will display all clients' latest activities, including RPE submissions.
