Accepting Apple's Latest Terms on Your Developer Account
Apple periodically updates its licensing terms and agreeing to these terms is necessary to maintain your Apple Developer account. Only the Account Holder has the ability to accept these updates and our team does not have the ability to complete this action on your behalf. If your account is not up to date, we cannot update your app and your app may be at risk of being removed from the App Store by Apple.
For further instructions on accepting new or updated terms on Apple, please visit Apple's help article here.
To accept terms on Apple, follow the steps below:
- Go to App Store Connect.
- Enter your Apple ID, and then click Sign In.
- Note: you must be logged in as the Account Holder. This cannot be completed by anyone else.
- On the Home page, click on Business.
- Click on your business name and following directions
Important: There may also be a 'Paid Apps' agreement to accept. While your app may be free, we require all outstanding agreements to be accepted to gain full access to your account. If you see an agreement for paid apps, you may need to complete additional steps before accepting it.
To agree to the 'Paid Apps' agreement:
1. Click Set Up Tax, Banking and Contacts.
2. Complete the Bank Account and Tax Forms sections.
3. Add details for these user roles (no need to add unique information for each role - you can use the same info for all contacts if you wish:
Once the relevant sections have been completed, you will able to accept the agreement. The agreement has been successfully accepted when the status is 'Active' & the light next to it turns green.
Renewing Your Apple Developer Membership
Your Apple Developer membership must be renewed annually. Only the Account Holder can complete this process. If no action is taken, your app will be removed from the App Store by Apple.
You can renew your membership starting 30 days before your expiration date or anytime after it expires. Your expiration date can be viewed on your Apple Developer Account under Membership. If you opted into automatic renewal, the default credit/debit card associated with your Apple ID will be charged the annual membership fee on your expiration date.
To renew your membership, follow these steps:
- Go to the Apple Developer website.
- Enter your Apple ID, and then click Sign In.
- Note: you must be logged in as the Account Holder. This cannot be completed by anyone else
- Click the Renew Membership button in orange.
We strongly recommend enrolling in automatic membership renewal. If you do not renew your membership, your app will be removed by Apple. For further instructions on renewing your membership, please view Apple's help article here.
