Custom Branded App: Agreeing to latest terms on Apple Developer Account

This article breaks-down how to accept Apple's latest terms and renew your annual Apple Developer membership. These two actions are required to maintain your Apple Developer account and we are unable to complete this on your behalf. We recommend logging in to your Developer account on a regular basis to check for any notices. If any urgent issues are pending, you'll see a banner displayed across the top of the screen after logging in.

Accepting Apple's Latest Terms on Your Developer Account

From time to time, Apple has new licensing terms you must agree to. This is a necessary and required task. Only the Account Holder has the ability to do this. These updated agreements are required to maintain your Apple Developer account and we won't be able to complete it on your behalf.

If your account is not up to date, we will not be able to update your app. You may also put your app in risk of being removed from the App Store by Apple.

To accept terms on Apple, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Apple Developer website
  2. Enter your Apple ID, and then click Sign In
    • Noteyou must be logged in as the Account Owner. This cannot be completed by anyone else
  3. You should see a banner at the top of the screen—click Review Agreement to view the updated terms
  4. Check the confirmation box, and then click I Agree.

If you do not see the banner, try accessing the "Agreements, Tax, and Banking" page directly through your App Store Connect. Any important updates or approvals will always be shown on that screen.

There may be a 'Paid Apps' agreement to be also accepted. While your app may be free, we require all outstanding agreements to be accepted when released, or we cannot gain full access to your account. If you see an agreement for paid apps, you may need to complete some steps before accepting it.

To agree to the 'Paid Apps' agreement, click 'Set Up Tax, Banking and Contacts'.

Complete the Bank Account and Tax Forms sections.

Once the relevant sections have been completed, you will able to accept the agreement. The agreement has been successfully accepted when the status is 'Active' & the light next to it turns green.

Renewing Your Apple Developer Membership:

Your Apple Developer membership must be renewed annually. Only the account holder is able to do this. If no action is taken, your app will be removed by Apple.

You can renew starting 30 days before your expiration date or anytime after it expires. Your expiration date is available to view on your Apple Developer account under ‘Membership’. If you have opted in to automatic renewal, the default credit/debit card associated with your Apple ID will be charged the annual membership fee on your expiration date.

To renew your membership:

  1. Go to the Apple Developer website
  2. Enter your Apple ID, and then click Sign In
    • Noteyou must be logged in as the Account Owner. This cannot be completed by anyone else
  3. Click the Renew Membership button in orange

We strongly recommend enrolling in automatic membership renewal. If you do not renew your membership, your app will be removed by Apple. For further instructions on renewing your membership, please view this article here.
