Changing Account Ownership on ABC Trainerize

If you need to transfer account ownership, this article will walk you through the steps to do so. Please note there is no direct way to re-assign or transfer the Account Owner role to another trainer on an ABC Trainerize account. However, the steps below will assist you in accomplishing the same objective.

1. Adjusting Profile

Changing Email Address and Password:

  • Switch the email address on the account from your current email address and password to the new owner's credentials.
  • As a security measure, you can create a temporary password and share that with the new owner.
  • Account email addresses and passwords can be changed by selecting the 'My Account' area in the upper right-hand corner of your ABC Trainerize web account under Profile.
  • Note: If the new Account Owner is an existing trainer, they will not be able to use the same email address for the owner account as their current trainer account. They will need to use another email address.

Adjusting Trainerize.me Profile Information:

  • Under the same Profile area as above, switch the First and Last name, Phone Number, About Yourself, Certifications and any other information to the new account owner.
  • If your Trainerize.me webpage is live, this will reflect on the Trainerize.me profile page
  • For more information on filling out Trainerize.me profile information, please visit: How do I fill out my Trainerize.me profile?

2. Adjusting Billing

  • Navigate to the Settings > Billing section of your web account to change the credit card on file
  • Adjust any subscription plans and add-on subscriptions as needed
  • For more information on updating billing information, please visit: How do I update the billing information in my account?

3. Managing Client List and Team Roles

Re-assigning Clients:

  • If needed, you can re-assign any clients currently assigned to the Account Owner to another team member
  • If the new Account Owner is an existing trainer, you can re-assign their clients to their new owner role.

Team Role/Access:

  • Adjust team member roles and manage which trainers will still have access if needed.

4. Stripe Integrated Payments

  • If Stripe Integrated Payments is enabled on the account, the original owner will need to sign into their Stripe account and open a ticket with them to adjust ownership. Visit: Stripe Support: Change The Owner Of A Stripe Account for more details.
  • Alternatively, contact our support team to disconnect the existing Stripe account so the new owner can connect their own. Note that this would require an entire Payments tab reset and any existing products, invoices, transactions, etc would be permanently deleted. More details regarding Payments Tab reset can be found here: Payments Tab Reset: What You Need To Know

5. Studio CBA Ownership Changes

Studio accounts with a Custom Branded App require a few extra steps for Apple Developer Account ownership changes:

  • If the Apple Developer Account Holder role is being transferred to the new owner/team member within the same Apple Developer Account, please follow Apple's guidelines here.
  • If your app is going to be transferred to another Apple Developer Account, you will need to reach out to our support team at studiohelp@trainerize.com for further information and assistance.

IMPORTANT: In order to transfer apps, our team will need access to BOTH the old and new Apple Developer Accounts. Both accounts must be in good standing and have an active membership. If the membership is expired, our team cannot complete the transfer until the membership is renewed.

  • Once transferred, the new Apple Developer Account will need to share a new Apple API key with our team.

By following these steps, you can successfully transfer account ownership while ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining the integrity of your account settings and client management. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please contact our support team.
