Encountering the "Email Already Taken" error happens when you try to add a client using an email address that already exists within your account. This also occurs if the email address is already being used by a trainer on the account. Both client and trainer email addresses must be unique and cannot be used more than once.
If you are attempting to add a client and receive this error, it is likely that the client already exists within your 'Pending', 'Deactivated' or 'Basic' client folder. Follow the steps below to locate and activate these client accounts.
Please note that only account owners/admins have the ability to change client type.
Search the Email Address in the Search Bar
Use the 'Find a client' search function in your ABC Trainerize web account to quickly locate the client account. This search bar is located on the left-hand menu under your business name. Simply enter the client's email address, select the account from the search results, and adjust the client type as needed.
Locate the Client Account via the Pending, Basic, or Deactivated Folder
Another method to locate the client account is from the client-type folders directly. Within each folder, you can select the client account from your list to re-activate the client as a coaching client.

From the Basic Client Folder:
- Navigate to the Clients tab from the left-hand menu
- Select the Basic folder
- Choose the client you wish to activate by selecting the checkbox next to their name
- Click on the CHANGE TYPE drop-down from the client menu
