If you track a workout (not cardio activity) using the Apple Workout app on your Apple Watch, you may notice that the workout does not appear in ABC Trainerize.
In this article, you’ll learn why Apple Workouts don’t sync into ABC Trainerize, how Apple Health syncing works, and what you can do to ensure your workouts are properly tracked in your account.
Why Apple Workouts Don't Sync
Even if Apple Health is connected, workouts started directly in the Apple Workout app do not sync back into ABC Trainerize as tracked workouts.
This happens because of how the Apple Health integration works.
One-Way Data Sync
The Apple Health integration is a one-way data sync.
This means ABC Trainerize can read certain health data stored in Apple Health (steps, calories, heart rate, sleep, cardio activities etc.). However, Apple Watch workout data does not transfer back as a completed workout inside Trainerize.
So while some health metrics may sync (like calories or heart rate), the workout itself will not appear as a logged workout session.
2. Data Access & Privacy Limitations
One-way sync prioritizes the security and privacy of client data by limiting external access to Trainerize.
This means that not all workout session details are made available to external apps.
How to Properly Track a Workout in ABC Trainerize
Option 1: Manual Entry
nce your Apple Workout is complete, manually log the data collected within the ABC Trainerize app for a comprehensive fitness record.
Option 2: Use the ABC Trainerize Apple Watch App (Reccomended)
Utilize ABC Trainerize Apple Watch Integration and Watchface: Begin your workout on the ABC Trainerize Apple Watch App instead rather than the Apple Workout app. This will ensure that the data collected during the workout is present on your account.
