ABC Trainerize allows you to use videos from your own YouTube channel as custom exercises in your exercise library. This article explains how to connect your YouTube account, import videos, and ensure they meet the requirements to play correctly in Trainerize.
Step 1: Connect Your YouTube account
- Log on to your ABC Trainerize web account and navigate to the Add-ons > Integrations section.
- Scroll down to Video Hosting.
- Under the Youtube section, select Connect To Your Account.
Step 2: Batch Import Videos from Youtube
Once your Youtube account is connected, you can sync your Youtube videos to ABC Trainerize:
- Click Import Youtube Videos.
- Select the videos from Youtube you want to import.
You can also select what type of exercise you would like to import the videos as. For more information about exercise types, check out this article.
Your exercises will now be viewable in your exercise library.
Step 3: Ensure Youtube Videos are "Public" or "Unlisted"
By default, YouTube videos are set to Public, meaning they are searchable and viewable by anyone on YouTube. If you want your clients to be able to view the videos on Trainerize, but not have them visible on your YouTube channel, you can set them as Unlisted. These videos are only viewable with a direct link.
To change video visibility settings, open your YouTube Creator Studio and navigate to your Videos. Select the boxes beside the videos you would like to use in Trainerize and click the Edit button. Select Visibility and choose Public or Unlisted.
Step 4: Ensure Youtube Videos are Embeddable
Your YouTube videos must have the embeddable option turned on in order for them to play in Trainerize.
To turn this on, open your YouTube Creator Studio and navigate to your Videos. Select the boxes beside the videos you would like to use in Trainerize and click the Edit button. Select Embedding and ensure it is set to ON.

Are there any copyright issues when using YouTube videos (with or without music)?
Please note that using YouTube videos do not pose any copyright risk as YouTube already checks for copyright permissions when creating a video. If you are using someone else's exercise videos, as they are already public, it does not pose any copyright risk.
I'm having trouble with the videos not playing. What can I do?
If videos fail to load, ensure the permissions on your YouTube account are set to allow for embedding as shown in Step 4.
I get the error message "This Video is Unavailable" after uploading.
Please ensure that:
- The YouTube link you've used is correct. Test this by pasting the link into a new tab on your browser to test if the link is valid.
