When adding a client to your ABC Trainerize account, you will need to select a client type. There are 4 types of clients to choose from: full access 2-way messaging coaching clients, full access 1-way messaging clients, offline, and basic. What is a Basic Client?
The Basic client type is unique because it does NOT take up a client seat on your account. This means that if you are on a Pro 15 plan, basic clients will not count towards the 15 coaching clients included in your plan.
- Paid plans allow unlimited Basic Clients
- Free plans have a limit of 200 Basic clients.
Basic Client Access
While you can have an unlimited number of basic clients on a paid plan, it's important to note that basic clients have limited access compared to a full access coaching client.
What Basic Clients CANNOT do:
- No access to Messenger or Groups.
- Cannot have training programs assigned to them.
- Cannot track workouts, cardio, meals, photos/body stats or sleep.
- Cannot be assigned to a trainer (only to a location).
What Basic Clients CAN do:
- Can have appointments (including video appointments).
- Can use the water tracker feature.
- Have access to a Dash, Calendar, and My Account section on the web.
- Can purchase products using Stripe Integrated Payments and view transaction history when logged in.
Client Mobile and Web Views
- Dash - overview of scheduled appointments.
- Calendar- View and manage booked appointments.
- More (three-dot icon)- Limited account info, payment history, and purchases.
On the web, clients can book appointments using the plus icon that appears in the top right corner. There is similar functionality/limitations to the mobile app for managing payments and viewing past purchases only.

Basic clients are ideal for appointment-based clients who will not have access to training plans, tracking workouts, or messaging. They offer a streamlined experience for clients who only need scheduling and payment features, making them a flexible option for managing different client needs.
