Goal is an idea of the future or desired result that a client commit to achieve. Usually has determined deadline. Regardless on deadline, goal is expected sometime to finish (achieve). It is one time aim.
Habit is something that you do often and regularly, sometimes without knowing that you are doing it. That is the main key. Train client with good habits (approximately 21 day) with expectation not to stop after all but to incorporate them in everyday life. Over time it becomes easier and easier for them and eventually to do them by automation.
Goals are limited to 5 at once and Habits are not at all, but recommendation is 3 at once. Be careful not to overwhelm your client. Maybe the best combination is to set the goal and prescribe couple of habits that will help them to achieve the goal.
