Auto-Deactivate Clients with Expired Products or Failed Payments

How does it work?

Once a client’s active product expires and there is no upcoming product, the client is automatically deactivated, removing their access to the app. This opens up spots in your account for new clients. To keep clients training longer without any breaks in their app access, you can queue upcoming products, automatically switching clients onto their next product when their previous one ends.


Example 1 : Upsell to the next package

A common sales scenario is a trainer selling a fixed-term training product, and upselling the client to the next phase. The client can purchase before the end date, and have the product automatically be queued up. If the client decides at any point to not purchase the next product, Trainerize automatically deactivates the client once the last main product runs out. 




Example 2 : A recurring main product gets cancelled

In a recurring product, a client can request to cancel their subscription. When that happens, the auto-renew in the next billing cycle is cancelled. Once the product expires, the client is deactivated.



Example 3 : Payment on a recurring main product fails out 

A client with a recurring product loses their credit. They get multiple reminders but ultimately forgets to enter their credit card and let's their subscription lapse. The system marks the main product as failed and cancels the auto-renew. 

Once the product expires, the client is auto-deactivated.


How to turn this on/off?

You can control your options for Auto-Deactivate in Payments > Setup under the When a client's active product expires section. It is turned off by default but you can go into your Setup page anytime to turn Auto-deactivate on.
